If you can't safely do anything above, mark the package as undeliverable, then when the app prompts you, text the customer and explain why you can't deliver the package. Next, call the customer. Lastly send dispatch a quick text on why you can't complete the delivery in accordance with instructions. They key here is to problem solve and create an audit trail. If customer instructions are not followed, Amazon will review the text and call logs to determine if you communicated to the customer and what you said via text. These are designed to prevent you from getting a DNR or negative CDF on your scorecard as well as prevent you from getting a Tier Infraction from Amazon that can lead to termination.
